Job Help at the Library
Community Resources
Are you out of work? Don’t worry, you are not alone. Unemployment is at its highest rate in years and due to the economic downturn, jobs are harder to find while competition for the scarce jobs is greater than ever. In these challenging times, the library has compiled resources to assist those who want to work. We have gathered information to help citizens to rejoin the workforce as well as county and city resources for the out of work and disadvantaged
- JobLink Career Center: The Charlotte-Mecklenburg JobLink Career Center System offers a number of services to help individuals explore careers and get a good job.
- Job Support Groups: The Charlotte Chamber of Commerce is very involved with all things having to do with our area's economic development...including the workforce. There are resources for employers and hopeful employees. This includes a list of Job Support Groups, plus they can post their resumes free, and search the Job Board.
- Job Search Toolkit was developed by the State Library of North Carolina with ongoing contributions from library staff across the state. This toolkit is designed to provide resources that help library staff respond to the increasing needs of job seekers in their communities. The toolkit includes links to Internet resources, NC LIVE career information and e-books, selected books, and what other libraries are doing.
